Privacy Statement

Associated Independent Adjusters respects the confidentiality of the information we collect or obtain associated with our customers, clients and vendors.  We strongly adhere to the goal of keeping your personal information as accurate as possible, and as secure as possible.

Consent may be obtained from you either verbally or in writing, but is also considered implied consent when you provide that information to us willingly in the course of our investigation.  Information obtained during the course of our involvement with you may include but is not limited to details regarding your personally identifiable information, financial information, medical information, previous insurance policy or claims history, and other details as necessary to fulfil our duties.  The information collected is used solely by authorized users for the adjustment of the claim, the purpose it was originally collected for, as otherwise specified by us in our interactions, or as otherwise required by law.  We collect information necessary for the investigation, negotiation and settlement of insurance claims, along with information necessary to the insurance company for underwriting purposes.  Information may be obtained for, but not limited to, the following reasons:

  • Confirming contact information and maintaining communication with you
  • Investigation, negotiation and settlement of claims
  • Analysis and assessment of the insured risk, with subsequent reporting to underwriters
  • Detecting and preventing fraud or other illegal activities
  • Compiling statistics
  • Reporting to regulatory bodies as mandated or to insurance companies per standard practices
  • Complying with the law or law enforcement agencies or regulators

We will not sell or trade any personally identifiable information that may be collected from our website or through our interactions with the public, and will not disclose such information to third parties except as authorized or required by law.  Personal and identifiable information is de-personalized or destroyed once we are no longer required to maintain that information.  Personal and identifiable information is stored only as long as necessary to complete our required duties or as necessary to satisfy legal, statutory, or business requirements.

No transmissions over internet or fax can be guaranteed to be 100% secure.  While we work to protect a user’s personal information, Associated Independent Adjusters cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information transmitted to it or from it.  As a result, users should transmit information at their own risk.  Once we receive your transmission we will make every effort to ensure that the information contained therein is maintained securely and protected from unauthorized use. 

Associated Independent Adjusters’ collection, use, disclosure and retention of information complies with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA).  You do have the option of withdrawing your authorization to use the information collected, and this notification should be made in writing to the Privacy Officer.  Withdrawal of that consent may mean that we are unable to provide you with continued assistance in the handling of your claim and the Privacy Officer will advise of you of any repercussions associated with the withdrawal of consent.  If you have any concerns regarding the collection, use or storage of your personal information, please contact the Privacy Officer as follows:
